Thermal shielding is simply a barrier or material that prevents heat from transfer-ring into an area or material. It could be insulation, window tint, or even high-grade fiberglass. Thermal shielding is around us. Its basic use is to block the transfer of heat from one area or material to another. But there are many reasons why you may want to block that transfer of heat. You may want to enhance your comfort and maintain a cool temperature. You may want to increase energy efficiency and keep heat out of certain areas. The heat transfer may be a safety issue and thermal shielding may be nec-essary to prevent fires.

Ever heard of thermal shielding? No? What about insulation? How about window tinting? Guess what? Those are all types of thermal shielding. Thermal shielding is method in which heat is blocked from trans-ferring from one space or material to another. The shielding usually comes in the form of metal, fiber-glass, insulation, or even plastic film. When heat or light hits the shield, it’s either reflected away or ab-sorbed by the shield.
